well darling eve has tagged me and i am to list six random facts about myself- bottoms up!
i get anxiety attacks when i am late to things, but that still doesn't prevent me from being late.
four years out of twenty i've had a cast on for my birthday.
yesterday at the grocery store devin suggested i get semi sweet chocolate chips to which i replied, "over my dead body." (bad of me, i could've been nicer) when it comes to sweets price doesn't matter as much as taste.
i want to learn to invest in the stock market. one day i'd like to have a snazzy portfoio of my own.
confrontation and i are not friends. i avoid her at all costs.
i met this woman once on an airplane that was knitting the last few rowes of a blanket that she gave to me upon completion. it is in my living room to this day.
nothing stresses me out more than choreographing.
off to you becca, lindsey, and courtney

fall

i've been hearing lately lots of people who are fascinated and infatuated with fall. i must say i've never had a favorite season but i feel like a new person lately around campus at byu. it is an inspiring sight even if you dont have a favorite season. in such a new way this semester and starting back this summer-i've FALLin (pardon the pun) for studying. my angel mother has had this quote hanging in her bathroom and as my life has taken interesting turns i've felt this quote direct me more than ever,
"Your life was carefully watched over, as was mine. The Lord knows both what He will need you to do and what you will need to know. He is kind and He is all knowing. So, you can with confidence expect that He has prepared opportunities for you to learn in preparation for the service you will give. You will not recognize those opportunities perfectly, as i did not. But when you put the spiritual things first in your life, you will be blessed to feel directed toward certain learning and you will be motivated to work harder. You will recognize later that your power to serve was increased, and you will be grateful." Elder Henry B. Eyring
I feel so blessed to feel directed toward certain learning and hope that i'll be grateful looking back that my power to serve will increase. thanks

toe + jammin days
i'm not talking about foot tappin toe jammin music. this just has to do with jam + toes, literally.
do you ever have one of those days when you're trying to be a perfect little wife and make a hearty pbandj for your husband and somehow a drop jam falls perfectly on your toe? you wonder why me, why did it have to fall and land exactly on my toe?
that has happened to me quite frequently lately. but today it was more than a toe + some jam. i wanted to be a great visiting teacher and make some homemade banana bread. after takin an extra trip to the store for last minute ingredients, two hours in the kitchen, and the first of two batches comin out a little small, the buzzer for the second went off. i opened the oven, take it out, and go to remove it from the pan. apparently it was a little undercooked because it spilled EEEEVerywhere.
amid the horrid clean up, and one ripped hot pad later...
I began to think back to the toe + jammin experience. there are days when you drop your perfectly made cereal while running to the car, or sleep in for a work meeting, and somehow, even thought it may appear that all the cosmos are aligned and have it made for your utter destruction, even with all that you still can smile. you still can laugh. and with the help of Divine Providence you can think, "how great that i am alive and have jam that could hit my perfectly functioning toe." (intended to sound bafflingly grateful, not sardonic.)
isn't that kind of remarkable? i know it is for me. i had a harder time smiling with this last banana bread experience but i was praying the smile would come. and it did-

we are family
recently i found this gem at my moms and almost started crying. my mommer( bev's mom) died very shortly after this picture was taken. i only knew her for a year. how dear are the relationships we make. "The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave."
i've been staying with my parentals, thus i cant help but admire all they do. and how rewarding the eternal bonds of family are. my mom is going all family history crazy lately till the weee hours of the morn. as i've stayed up and learned some with her i have this indefinite sense of debt to those who have gone before. "Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally."
my brother jake comes home this weekend. my siblings are some of my greatest examples.
next weekend my family is going to EDEN(crazy eh) utah for a family reunion.
"Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ."
